Press Release

WESTON, CT – In Celebration of the 135th Anniversary of the National Parks we are rolling out American Wanderer RV Camp for Kids. Explore The National Parks With Us. American Wanderer – RV Camp for Kids is the next generation of a traditional summer camp for boys and girls age 11-17. American Wanderer is a totally new and unique concept in summer camp programs, found nowhere else, our cabins roll and our camp moves.  We combine the feeling of a traditional summer camp with the adventure of a travel camp and the character building of a wilderness camp and our camp ground is the 83 million acres of the National Park System.

At some point in life everyone needs to experience the wonders of our National Parks. View the sun rise or set over the Grand Canyon, Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone Lake or the Canyons of Utah. Watch a wild buffalo, pronghorn antelope, elk or bear in their natural habitat. Walk with us and learn that which you cannot read about in a book or experience in a picture or movie. Our guides are experienced teachers and professional educators who have the ability to kindle an appreciation for the history and natural beauty that exists within our country. The RollingCabins are travel trailers designed with all the benefits of a camp cabin and more.  Our meals are prepared by our Chef in the CookHouse trailer and are served family style.
Our goal was to develop a camp that offered an unsurpassed opportunity for middle and high school age students to spend a summer traveling and exploring our National Parks. At the same time creating an atmosphere and community where lifelong friendships will emerge. We attempt to provide that spark of passion, within every camper, for the wonders around us. All of this allows them to expand their personal horizons and have a truly great time in a safe and well-supervised educational environment.
This summer we are offering 2 four week sessions with two different National
Park routes to choose from. Session I – “The Southern Route” starting June 23rd explores parks in Colorado, Utah and Arizona.  Session II – “The Northern Route” starting July 22nd explores parks in Wyoming, South Dakota and Idaho.
Written over 100 years ago by the Father of the National Parks John Muir, and even more true today, “Thousands of tired, nerve-shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out that going to the mountains is going home; that wildness is a necessity; and that mountain parks and reservations are useful not only as fountains of timber and irrigating rivers, but as fountains of life.”

Everyone at some point in their lives should experience "The Great Wilderness" and all it has to offer. In todays world where both parents are supporting the house hold, what better way for kids to learn about them selves and experience the great out doors then to join the "AMERICAN WANDERER, LLC" for a fantastic adventure. Not only will kids be introduced to the out doors, but they will see wonderful places, meet new people, make life long friends and not be tied into one place for the summer. This is a great way for kids to see places that they only see in books and pictures. Let the kids see this beautiful country!!!!!

As explorers, adventurers ,and conservationists over many years, we applaud this new summer camp. These leaders know the riches which can be added to young lives; and we believe that they can offer to their travelers great insights into our natural world, as they themselves learned when they were young.
