Camp 7-31 to 8-1

July 31st...We left Green River and toured Goblin State Park.  We saw Temple Mountain and an abandoned mining town.  Then we were off to see the store in the Hole in the Mountain in Hanksville and stop for drinks.  After that we toured Capitol Reef and saw a Mormon homestead, schoolhouse and peach orchard.  Below is Navajo Dome in Capitol Reef  (looks like the capitol dome and the fosilized reef are how it got its name).

We took the senic route 12 byway through Dixie National Forest and Grand Staircase Escalante and stopped for a swim and dinner in Cannonville below the hills of Bryce Canyon.

The Campers pose for a quick picture at Bryce Point.

An evening walk was twarted by rain so it was back to camp for a campfire.  Towmorrow we will do one more hike in Brycea and head out for Zion National Park.
